MY Bharat platform offers over 1.52 lakh volunteering opportunities, aims to empower 100 million youth: Govt
New Delhi, July 5
The Centre on Sunday said the MY Bharat platform has emerged as a key digital initiative to engage India's young population, offering more than 1.52 lakh volunteering opportunities across sectors such as cleanliness drives, blood donation, sports, disaster response and community service as of June 2026.
Launched in October 2023 under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, MY Bharat was conceived to place young people at the centre of nation-building. The government said the platform connects educational institutions, government agencies, industry and non-profit organisations, enabling millions of young Indians to access learning, volunteering and career opportunities through a single digital interface.
It also provides end-to-end digital volunteer management, including online registration, attendance, geo-tagging, certificate generation and impact tracking.
The government said that, as of July 2026, MY Bharat hosts more than 24,900 Experiential Learning Programmes (ELPs) to promote hands-on learning and improve workforce readiness. The platform also facilitates internships, apprenticeships, industry exposure, AI-powered resume building and mentoring support to help young people prepare for academic and professional careers.
It further said the initiative promotes civic awareness and leadership through quizzes, competitions and youth parliament programmes focused on governance, the Constitution, public policy and national issues. Initiatives such as the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament are aimed at strengthening leadership skills and encouraging informed participation in democratic processes.
The government highlighted that the 'MY Bharat MY Vote' campaign encouraged constitutional awareness and informed voting among first-time voters. It added that the National Youth Festival: Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 witnessed participation from more than 50.42 lakh youth, making it one of the country's largest youth consultation exercises. The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue offered a national platform for young people to deliberate on ideas and solutions for achieving the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
According to the government, the Youth for Viksit Bharat - MY Bharat Youth Convention 2026 brought together over 6,000 participants to celebrate the aspirations and achievements of the Amrit Peedhi. The Nari Shakti Youth Parliament, conducted across 17 zones, engaged more than 7,000 young women in democratic dialogue and policy discussions.

This is exactly what India needs - combining digital infrastructure with youth empowerment. The Nari Shakti Youth Parliament engaging over 7,000 young women is a fantastic step. But I hope they focus on quality over just numbers. Let's ensure these volunteering opportunities lead to actual skill development and not just certificates. 🤔
Great initiative! The AI-powered resume building and mentoring support is a game-changer for students from smaller towns like mine. I attended the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in 2026 and it was honestly eye-opening - discussed real solutions for our village's water crisis. Hope the government maintains this momentum beyond just announcements.
The MY Bharat MY Vote campaign is brilliant - first-time voters need that constitutional awareness. I registered for the youth parliament through this platform and it helped me understand policy-making at the grassroots level. However, internet connectivity remains a challenge in many parts of India. The government must ensure digital access for all, not just urban youth.
Impressive scale! As someone who has worked with non-profits in India, this kind of single-window platform is revolutionary. The 24,900 Experiential Learning Programmes could seriously bridge the gap between education and employment if executed well. Hope there's transparent tracking of outcomes, not just participation numbers.
Been using MY Bharat since my college days - the internship matching feature is excellent. But I've noticed many volunteering opportunities are concentrated in metro cities. Please expand to tier-2 and tier-3 towns! The youth there have even more potential and need such platforms desperately. 🇮🇳
