MPL T20 Scindia Cup: Royal Nimar Eagles survive late scare to seal three-wicket win over Rewa Jaguars
Indore, June 12
Royal Nimar Eagles registered a thrilling 3-wicket victory over Rewa Jaguars in the Madhya Pradesh League T20 Scindia Cup 2026 at Daly College, Indore.
Chasing 131, a below-par target as per the international standards, the Eagles got over the line with just three balls to spare in what turned out to be a thrilling contest. The chase got off to a disappointing start as Royal Nimar were reduced to 11/3 in the first three overs.
However, Anand Bais and skipper Saransh Jain steadied the innings with a crucial 65-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Saransh played a composed knock of 28 off 26 deliveries before being dismissed, while Bais anchored the chase brilliantly and brought up a well-crafted half-century.
After the skipper's departure, the Eagles suffered another setback when Shivansh Chaturvedi was dismissed for 10 off 10 balls. The drama intensified when Bais fell for 64 off 56 deliveries with the team still requiring six runs from the final eight balls with four wickets in hand. Parush Mandal was then dismissed, with Royal Nimar needing just one run from four deliveries.
Abhishek Mavi kept his calm and sealed the win on the very next ball, remaining unbeaten at 15 off 8 deliveries as the Eagles completed the chase.
Earlier, Rewa Jaguars endured a difficult outing with the bat, losing wickets at regular intervals throughout their innings. The side was struggling at 22/2 when Arham Aqueel and Ashwin Das came together to rebuild with a 41-run partnership.
Das scored 18 off 21 balls before being dismissed, triggering a mini-collapse that also saw Aqueel depart for 33 off 29 deliveries. Rewa soon found themselves in trouble at 116/8.
Atharva Mahajan fought a lone battle in the latter stages, remaining not out at 33 off 28 balls and helping the Jaguars score 130/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Brilliant comeback by the Eagles! But honestly, Rewa Jaguars should have defended 131 better. Their bowling attack lacked discipline in the death overs. Still, great entertainment for the fans at Daly College. Cricket in small towns is truly thriving.
Saransh Jain and Anand Bais partnership was the turning point. 65 runs for the 4th wicket after being 11/3 - that's proper Test match temperament in T20s! Abhishek Mavi finishing it off with a cool head showed his IPL experience. 👌
Respect to Atharva Mahajan for that unbeaten 33 off 28 balls for Rewa. He single-handedly dragged them to a competitive total. Sometimes these lower-order knocks go unnoticed but they're just as valuable as a fifty at the top. Tough luck for the Jaguars though.
Rewa Jaguars need to work on their death bowling. 6 runs needed from 8 balls with 4 wickets in hand - that should have been game over for the chasers. But credit to Abhishek Mavi for keeping his nerve. This is why T20 cricket is the best format for drama! 🎉
As an Indori, I'm so proud to see Daly College hosting such high-quality cricket. The MPL is giving platform to so many talented youngsters from small towns. Anand Bais's 64 off 56 might look slow by IPL standards, but in a low-scoring thriller, it's gold. 👏
