MP govt to start 6-month Jan Vishwas Abhiyan from today; ministers, officials to spend Fridays in field
Bhopal/Chhindwara, Aug 7 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the six-month Jan Vishwas Abhiyan on Friday from Chhindwara, under which ministers, senior bureaucrats and district officials will spend every Friday in the field to directly interact with people, redress grievances and review implementation of government schemes.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to launch the campaign at around 12.30 p.m. in Chhindwara. The initiative comes as the BJP government in the state completes two-and-a-half years in office and enters the second half of its five-year tenure, with the opposition Congress stepping up its attack on the government over governance and public issues.
According to the state government, the campaign aims to strengthen direct communication between the administration and citizens, ensure time-bound disposal of complaints, obtain feedback on the implementation of government schemes and improve administrative accountability.
"The objective of the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan is to establish direct communication and connect with people by reaching the field, ensure 100 per cent disposal of complaints and problems, obtain feedback on ground realities, strengthen the administrative monitoring mechanism and build a transparent and sensitive image of the administration," an official statement said.
Under the campaign, Fridays will be dedicated to field visits across the state and, barring unavoidable circumstances, no official meetings will be held on the day. Senior officials from the state secretariat to district headquarters will visit villages and urban areas to hear public grievances and inspect implementation of government programmes.
District Collectors have been directed to identify the areas to be covered every week and review pending complaints related to the CM Helpline, Jan Sunwai and the Public Service Guarantee Act before the visits.
The government said efforts would be made to dispose of pending cases before the field visits, while grievances and applications received during the programme would be addressed on the spot wherever possible.
The campaign will also include Jan Samvad and Udyog Samvad programmes for interaction with citizens and MSME and cottage industry entrepreneurs.
Officials will inspect schools, anganwadi centres, health facilities, fair price shops and public infrastructure, besides reviewing implementation of welfare schemes, including Farmer ID generation, Ayushman Bharat cards, Samagra ID e-KYC and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

This is a welcome step! As a farmer's daughter, I know how difficult it is to reach government offices for basic issues. If ministers actually visit villages every Friday, it will help bridge the gap between administration and common people. Let's hope this isn't just election gimmickry. 🤞
Good initiative but the real test will be whether they resolve pending complaints or just collect new ones. CM Helpline pe thousands of cases pending hain. Pehle unko clear karein, phir naye promises karein. Still, I appreciate the intent behind this campaign.
As an NRI from MP, it's encouraging to see grassroots governance being prioritized. My parents still live in Indore and often complain about local administration. Hope this creates a culture of accountability and officials don't just show up for photo ops. 🇮🇳
Ye sarkar ke liye ek achha kadam hai, lekin opposition ka yeh kehna bhi sahi hai ki jab tak pehle ke waade pure nahi hote, yeh sab sirf dikhawa hai. Phir bhi, ground level par kaam hoga toh aam aadmi ko fayda hoga. Let's see how serious they are about this.
Interesting move by the MP government. Field visits are great, but I wonder about the sustainability of this approach. Will these officials continue this after the campaign ends? Accountability should be a permanent feature, not a 6-month experiment. Either way, good to see
