MP: CM Yadav lays foundation stone of Satgarhi Smart Industrial Park in Bhopal; project to generate over 15,000 jobs
Bhopal, July 6
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday laid the foundation stone of the Satgarhi Smart Industrial Park and Convention Centre in Bhopal on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Mookerjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh on October 21, 1951, the ideological predecessor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
CM Yadav also announced that the industrial park would be named after Dr Mookerjee, India's first Industry Minister, stressing that the project would generate over 15,000 jobs and mark a major step towards developing a new industrial corridor around the state capital.
"We deliver on what we promise. The industrial areas being developed across the state will create new avenues of prosperity for farmers, generate employment opportunities for youth and strengthen industries. Our government is connecting farms to factories and industries to markets," the Chief Minister said.
The CM further informed that a modern convention centre with a seating capacity of 10,000 will be developed over 25 acres at Satgarhi and it will be the largest convention centre in Madhya Pradesh. The Satgarhi Smart Industrial Park is located just 25 kilometres from Raja Bhoj Airport and 15 kilometres from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station. The proposed Western Bypass of Bhopal will also pass through the area.
Speaking on the Uniform Civil Code, CM Yadav said the state government is moving ahead with its implementation this month.
"Syama Prasad Mookerjee envisioned 'One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag, One Head'. In line with that vision, the state government is moving ahead with the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code this month. The law should be the same for every section of society. The committee constituted for this purpose sought suggestions from members of all religions and communities to ensure that no one is subjected to discrimination," he said.
Additionally, the Chief Minister added that Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 86,000 crore had been signed with investors since January during the state's "Krishak Kalyan Varsh", generating employment opportunities across the state.

This is excellent news for Madhya Pradesh! A smart industrial park with a convention centre near the airport and railway station—finally some serious infrastructure planning. The 10,000-seat convention centre will attract big events. Hope they keep the environment in mind too though, as industrial parks can harm nearby villages if not planned properly.
Good that they're linking it with Dr Mookerjee's vision of 'One Nation, One Constitution' and Uniform Civil Code. But linking a job project directly to UCC feels like political gimmickry. Let's focus on actual development like the MoUs worth Rs 86,000 crore and job creation rather than mixing religion with industry. 🤷♂️
Finally some real development in Bhopal beyond just political rallies! The Western Bypass connectivity will ease traffic too. But I am sceptical about the 15,000 jobs number—often such figures are inflated or includes temporary construction work. Let's watch the ground reality. Still, hope for the best. 👍
It's refreshing to see an industrial park near the airport and railway station—logistics matter a lot for investors. The 'farms to factories' slogan is nice but these parks often displace farmers from their land. Hope proper compensation and rehabilitation is given to those affected. We have seen too many cases where farmers suffer. 😕
Interesting to see how this blends industrial development with tribute to a political figure. The 10,000-seat convention centre is ambitious—hopefully it won't be a white elephant. India needs more
