Bhopal/Betul, June 27 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will begin a two-day visit to Kukru, a scenic hill station in Betul district, on Saturday.

During the visit, he will interact directly with villagers, review the implementation of government welfare schemes, and participate in a series of public outreach programmes.

The visit is aimed at strengthening the government's outreach in the tribal region and assessing the impact of welfare initiatives at the grassroots.

The Chief Minister is also expected to make announcements related to local development and tourism promotion.

According to the official programme, Mohan Yadav will reach Kukru on Saturday evening and visit the famous Sunset Point at 6.30 p.m. He will then participate in a 'Ratri Chaupal' at the Kukru Gram Panchayat, where he will hold an open interaction with villagers and public representatives.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister will listen to public grievances and suggestions while explaining the benefits of various state and Central government welfare schemes. Beneficiaries are expected to share their experiences of schemes related to rural development, housing, women's empowerment, self-help groups, agriculture, employment generation, social security and livelihood enhancement.

Following the Chaupal, the Chief Minister will attend a cultural programme showcasing the rich tribal traditions and folk culture of the region.

On Sunday (June 28), Mohan Yadav will begin the day with meditation at Sunrise Point and Buch Point. He will later observe activities undertaken by women associated with self-help groups and interact with them to understand how government initiatives have helped improve their income and economic independence.

The Chief Minister will also participate in a tree plantation drive and inspect the coffee plantation developed in the area, highlighting the state's efforts towards environmental conservation and promoting crop diversification in tribal regions.

Later in the day, he will meet local public representatives to discuss development priorities before joining residents in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio programme, 'Mann Ki Baat'.

Two days in a tribal area reviewing schemes is a good step. But I hope they also focus on the ground reality of how many people actually get benefits from schemes like housing and employment generation. Often the last mile delivery fails.

Sunrise point, meditation, sunset point... sounds like a vacation for our CM! But seriously, if they can promote coffee plantation in tribals areas that's a win-win. Coffee from Kukru could become the next big thing.

Love that they're including cultural programs showcasing tribal traditions! Our tribal culture is so rich but often ignored by governments. Also good that Modi's Mann Ki Baat is being played - it's a great way to connect villagers with PM's vision.

This is what good governance looks like - going to the people rather than expecting them to come to you. The Chaupal format is very democratic. Hope other state CMs follow this model.
