Mo Salah to reveal new club "in a few days", says Egypt team's staff member

Liverpool legend Mo Salah will reveal his new club "in a few days," says Egypt team staff. Saudi, Italy, France offers await. Injury may end his season early.

"Whichever team Salah picks, we will support him - he also has offers from Saudi... I think in a few days he will announce his next destination. - Muhammad Murad"

Cairo, April 28

Liverpool legend Mo Salah will reveal his new club "in a few days", as per a staff member of the Egyptian national team as he says goodbye to The Reds at the end of this season after an association of nine years.

Salah is set to end his nine-year stint with the club at the end of the 2025-26 season through a mutual contract termination, with his deal originally running till 2027.

Muhammad Murad, the media coordinator for the Egypt national side, said that the star striker is on the verge of making the announcement public. While the reports of him going to Saudi Pro League are rampant, Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa has not opened the lid on the veteran's next move, saying that "no one knows" where Salah will play next.

However, Murad said as reported by Four Four Two, quoted by Goal.com, "There are news stories being written about him having offers from Italy and France and other big teams in the world - this is, of course, true, he is a big star and would be a big addition to any team. Whichever team Salah picks, we will support him - he [also has offers from Saudi... I think in a few days he will announce his next destination."

As Salah plays out the remainder of the contract, he suffered a hamstring tear during Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on April 25, which could cut short his stay with the club prematurely, with the Egypt team director Ibrahim Hassan claiming that the injury could take four weeks of treatment, which could rule him out for Liverpool's final four matches as they are at the fourth place in the points table with 58 points. However, no confirmation has come from the club so far.

Signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, the number 11 has firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool's history, helping the club to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, as well as an FA Community Shield. His tally of 255 goals in 435 appearances to date has the Egyptian sitting third on the Reds' all-time leading goalscorers chart, winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions in addition to a host of personal accolades.

This is typical for big stars nearing the end. Liverpool should have sold him when his value was high, now they're losing him for free. Indian clubs could learn from this - you can't hold onto aging stars forever. We need to build for the future.

Mo Salah to Al Hilal would be huge for Asian football! πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦ As someone who watches the Pro League, the quality there is rising fast. Smart move if he wants to extend his career and make serious money. Not everything is about Premier League glory.

Honestly feel sad seeing him go. As a Liverpool fan from Bangalore, he's been our talisman for years. That goal against Everton, the Champions League final... memories for a lifetime. Hope he gets a proper send-off at Anfield. YNWA ❀️

The Egyptian connection is strong - Al Ahly fans in India love Salah too. But the hamstring injury is worrying. Four weeks out could mean he's played his last game for Liverpool. That's a sad end to a brilliant era.

I think he should stay in Europe - maybe Serie A or Ligue 1. Remember how he succeeded at Roma? Returning to Italy could be poetic. But ultimately, it's his decision. The guy has given everything to Liverpool. Respect. πŸ™
