Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Enola Holmes 3 Bridal Gown Took Inspiration From Her Actual Wedding Dress

Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that her bridal gown in 'Enola Holmes 3' was inspired by her actual wedding dress. The actress worked closely with the film's costume designer Consolata Boyle to create the look for her character Enola's wedding to Lord Tewkesbury. Millie also influenced the bridal hairstyle, though it proved difficult to achieve with a wig. She loved the final wedding gown so much that she took it home for her personal wardrobe, despite her husband Jake Bongiovi's objections.

Millie Bobby Brown says her 'Enola Holmes 3' bridal gown is inspired by her 'actual wedding dress'

Los Angeles, July 3

Hollywood actress Millie Bobby Brown has shared the source behind her bridal gown in 'Enola Holmes 3'. The actress has said that it was inspired by her "actual wedding dress".

The 22-year-old actress, who married Jake Bongiovi in a secret ceremony in May 2024 ahead of their larger wedding celebration in October that year, worked closely with the film's costume designer on her outfit for early scenes where her titular character is set to tie the knot with Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) and she knew just where to turn for ideas, reports 'Female First UK'.

In a video segment about her beauty routine for Allure, she said, "I designed the first wedding look with our amazing designers on the film. Consolata (Boyle), she's our amazing costume designer. We worked tirelessly on what that dress looked like and I took inspiration from my actual wedding dress".

And Millie also had an influence on Enola's bridal hairstyle, though it proved tricky to pull off. She said, "I knew I wanted to do two braids, one to symbolize me, one to symbolise Tewkesbury. However, it's really hard to get that whole style in a wig. When I tell you my wig was hanging on by a thread because the weight of the bun and the braids was just trying to pull down, so it's very, very difficult to try and do that without the wig falling off constantly".

As per 'Female First UK', while Enola's first wedding dress in the film was inspired by Millie's own, the 'Stranger Things' star loved the second, more simple, loose-fitting gown she wore for the second wedding so much, she managed to take it home for her personal wardrobe.

She said, "Jake said, 'You are not going home with this'. I said, 'I absolutely am, and you're not going to tell anyone'".

She told Netflix's Tudum, "The problem is he's my husband, but he's also producer on the movie, so I have to sometimes swear him to secrecy. I said, 'You cannot tell anyone I've done this'. They wound up finding out (anyway)".

Jake said, "Millie came out of the car wearing that final wedding dress, and it looked so incredible. All the pieces looked absolutely stunning, but the final one, Millie said, 'I'm keeping this"..

"I can't not keep this. It's so beautiful, I'd wear this to any night out that I could because of the love and care that went into each stitch'", he added.

Millie is just 22 and already married and producing films with her hubby! In India, we'd be getting asked 'shaadi kab kar rahe ho' for another 5 years at that age. She's living her best life 🔥

Okay but can we talk about her honesty? She straight up says she stole the dress from set and made Jake keep quiet. That's some desi 'chup chap ghar le aao' energy. I respect the hustle 💪

Nice to see behind-the-scenes details like the wig struggle. It's easy to forget that even big Hollywood productions have funny logistical problems. And the detail about the two braids representing them is lovely.

Honestly, all this wedding talk is cute but does anyone else feel like she's got too much going on? Getting married at 20, producing films with husband, still acting... It's a lot of pressure for a young person. Hope she's okay.

Bridal dress inspiration from real wedding? That's like our Bollywood brides wearing their actual wedding lehengas in movies. Guzaarish flashbacks! Millie and Enola are both iconic.
