"Menopause is not that generous. - Twinkle Khanna"

Mumbai, January 26

Twinkle Khanna has always been known for speaking her mind, and her latest post is proof of that.

On Monday, Twinkle took to her Instagram account to share a makeup-free selfie and express her thoughts on ageing, menopause, and what it really takes to feel good in your 50s.

In a lengthy caption, the actress opened up about the ups and downs that come with growing older, especially for women. Reflecting on her own experience, Twinkle shared how 'menopause' affected both her body and mind.

A part of her post read, "At 52 and makeup-free, I'd love to say that all you need is some great afternoon sun to feel and look good. But menopause is not that generous.

I once joked that menopause is a bigger b***** than I have ever been. :) For a long stretch, it made me feel like I was a phone with a faulty charger. I feel better now, not because I 'accepted my age gracefully' (whatever that means), but thanks to regular weight training."

Recently, the actress celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband, Akshay Kumar.

Taking to their Instagram accounts, Twinkle Khanna shared a glimpse of their silver jubilee celebrations. The couple participated in a paragliding adventure sport. In the video, Twinkle Khanna appeared nervous about paragliding while jokingly blaming her husband, Akshay Kumar, for convincing her to try the adventurous sport. Akshay then took his turn, looking relaxed while enjoying the experience.

Akshay and Twinkle tied the knot on January 17, 2001. The couple has two children: son Aarav and daughter Nitara.

The "phone with a faulty charger" analogy is spot on! My wife went through something similar. It's high time we men understood what this phase entails instead of just joking about 'mood swings'. Respect for Akshay sir for being a supportive partner through it all.

While I appreciate her honesty, I do wish she'd mentioned consulting a doctor. Weight training is great, but medical guidance is crucial for menopause management, especially for bone health. Hope her message encourages women to seek professional help too.

At 49, this post feels like a life raft. Everyone tells you to 'age gracefully' but no one tells you how hard it actually is. The pressure to look young forever is immense, especially for women in India. Thank you, Twinkle, for keeping it real.

Good on her for focusing on strength training! So many aunties in my family just accept joint pain and weight gain as their fate after 50. Physical activity is a game-changer. Maybe this will inspire my mom to join her yoga group more regularly.

Love this! But also, paragliding for your 25th anniversary? Goals! 😄 They seem to truly enjoy life together. It's not just about sticking through the hard times (like menopause) but also creating fun adventures. #CoupleGoals
