I was stuck in that traffic for an hour! Aurobindo Marg was completely choked. While I'm relieved no one is hurt, it highlights how one incident can bring a major part of South Delhi to a standstill. Authorities need better contingency plans for traffic diversion.

NDMC godowns under flyovers... this is a recurring issue. What was stored there? Are these godowns properly maintained and checked for fire safety? A major tragedy was averted today by sheer luck and a vigilant citizen. Time for a safety audit of all such storage spaces.

Salute to the Delhi Fire Services and police for the swift action. Evacuating everyone safely is no small task. Hope the firefighters stay safe. The traffic alert was helpful, but came a bit late for many of us.

This is near Prachin Shiv Mandir and a very busy area. The fact that it happened at 6 pm, peak hour, and still no casualties is a miracle. Shows our emergency services can be effective. But why do such fires keep happening? Lack of oversight?

The coordinated response between police and fire services is commendable. Eight fire engines is a significant deployment. Hopefully, they'll release details on the cause soon. Public infrastructure safety cannot be compromised.
