Maharashtra: Fire breaks out at warehouse in Bhiwandi; no casualties
Bhiwandi, June 28
A fire broke out at a warehouse in Bhiwandi Taluka in the early hours of Sunday, prompting a firefighting operation at the site, officials said.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and a firefighting operation was launched to bring the blaze under control.
Providing an update on the incident, fire official Suresh Muthe said, "We received the call regarding the fire incident at around 3 am. Efforts to douse the fire are underway.
No casualties have been reported.

In a separate incident on June 16 in Maharashtra's Handewadi area, a massive fire broke out at four furniture shops, a fire officer said. No loss of life has been reported in the incident.

Good to hear no one was hurt. But I wonder how many of these warehouses actually follow fire safety norms. With summer heat and all, these incidents are becoming too frequent. Need stricter enforcement.

No casualties is the main positive here. But these warehouse fires cause huge financial losses to small businesses. The government should provide insurance support or at least make safety compliance mandatory. Just saying.
Bhiwandi is a hub for textile and godowns. Such incidents are scary because warehouses are often crammed with flammable materials. The fire brigade did well but we need better planning in these industrial areas. Safety first always! 🚒
