Bhopal, July 4

The Madhya Pradesh government has issued appointment orders to 5,017 newly selected teachers for government schools in one of the state's major recruitment exercises aimed at strengthening school education and addressing vacancies in teaching posts.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the School Education Department said the appointment orders were issued on July 3 and 4 following the completion of the recruitment process.

The appointments include 4,067 Secondary Teachers in subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Social Science, Sports, and Vocal/Instrumental Music.

Besides, 950 Primary Teachers have been appointed for Sports, Dance, and Vocal/Instrumental Music.

The new recruits will be posted in schools across the state based on requirements, with the department directing authorities to complete joining formalities at the earliest so that they can join duty during the ongoing academic session.

School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh said the appointments reflect the state government's commitment to improving the quality of education in government schools.

"This achievement is the result of the candidates' hard work, dedication and talent. Through their knowledge, commitment and work, these newly appointed teachers will contribute to shaping the future of students and further improve the quality of education in the state," Singh said in a statement.

Highlighting the broader role of teachers, the Minister said they are instrumental not only in imparting education but also in building the character of students and contributing to society.

"The role of a teacher is not limited merely to imparting knowledge; they also shoulder the vital responsibility of shaping students' personalities and guiding the future of society," he stated.

According to the department, the appointments are expected to strengthen the availability of subject teachers as well as instructors for sports, music and dance in government schools.

The recruitment drive is also expected to improve classroom teaching and expand opportunities for co-curricular activities, particularly in schools facing shortages of specialised teachers.

Good move, but I hope these appointments are based on merit and not political connections. Many qualified teachers in our district are still waiting while some with dubious credentials got jobs. Transparency in the process is key.

As a retired teacher, I can say this is long overdue. Our government schools have been struggling with teacher shortages for years. The inclusion of sports, dance, and music teachers is also excellent - education isn't just about books! 🎵

My sister just got her appointment letter! She's been preparing for two years. To all the new teachers: please take the responsibility seriously. Our children deserve quality education. The minister's words about shaping character are very true.

While I appreciate the recruitment, I hope the government also focuses on improving school infrastructure. What's the use of teachers if classrooms don't have proper benches, drinking water, or toilets? Basic amenities are missing in many government schools in my district.

Great to see specialized teachers for music and sports! In our village, kids used to practice for school competitions without proper training. Now with qualified teachers, maybe we'll see more talent emerging from government schools. 🎯
