Good to see the leadership transition at Army HQ complete. But I hope the focus remains on modernization and welfare of jawans—our soldiers deserve the best equipment and support, especially in challenging terrains like Ladakh and the North East.
Interesting to see a military leader with experience in both conventional ops and UN peacekeeping. The Indian Army's professionalism in diverse environments is commendable. Four decades of service is remarkable—congratulations to Lt Gen Jain.
The article mentions "mission-ready" and "uncompromising operational preparedness." Given our current security challenges, especially along the northern borders, these words carry weight. I hope the new team at Army HQ will prioritize rapid capability enhancement—especially in AI, drones and cyber warfare. The future battlefield won't just be about boots on the ground.
Wonderful to see such a decorated officer take on this role. But we must also remember that leadership transitions are only as effective as the systems behind them. The Army needs sustained policy support on recruitment, indigenization (Atmanirbhar Bharat), and better soldier welfare schemes. These are the pillars that will support our generals.
