Impressive portfolio – Mahar Regiment, high-altitude postings, LoC ops, and UN missions. He's seen it all. But what about the modernization of our army? The Vice-Chief must push hard for indigenization and tech upgrades. We can't afford to lag behind in drones and AI. Hope he prioritizes that.

A well-deserved promotion for a dedicated officer. The Southern Command stint will serve him well in dealing with logistics and coastal security. As an Indian citizen, I feel more confident knowing our army leadership has such deep field experience. Best wishes for his tenure!

Great to see a decorated officer with nearly 40 years of service take up this role. I'm particularly glad he's served in Counter Insurgency Force – that's the reality of our internal security challenges. However, I hope he also focuses on better welfare for jawans and their families. They deserve more recognition. 😊

As someone who follows military affairs, this is a solid choice. Operation Pawan (Sri Lanka) and high-altitude experience are rare combinations. The fact that he's also done national defence courses abroad (Kenya) shows he understands geopolitics. Let's hope he brings that international insight to army reforms.

A proud moment for the Mahar Regiment and for all of us! 🇮🇳 But let's not just celebrate appointments – we need to ensure that our top brass is accountable to the modernization roadmap. Also, transparency in promotions and prevention of corruption in military procurement should be key areas. My best wishes to the new Vice-Chief!
