Rajkot, January 11

Ambassador of Ukraine to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to visit India later this year to discuss projects that the two countries can undertake together.

Speaking to ANI at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, Ambassador Polishchuk said the event provided an excellent platform to explore cooperation and business opportunities.

"Vibrant Gujarat is a very good opportunity for us to discuss business projects and cooperation. We had a very great time. We are looking forward to having President Zelenskyy this year in India so we can discuss the projects we can run together in India and Ukraine," he said.

Polishchuk's remarks come as India and Ukraine continue to explore avenues for collaboration across sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and trade, with diplomatic engagement expected to gain momentum in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Rwanda's Ambassador to India, Jacqueline Mukangira, also highlighted strong bilateral ties and growing economic cooperation between India and Rwanda, describing the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference as a valuable platform for partnership-building.

"I was pleased to represent my country here. Rwanda is one of the partner countries here. There is a lot in common between our two countries. India enjoys excellent bilateral relations with Rwanda. India is the second biggest foreign investor in Rwanda, and India is the second largest trading partner with Rwanda," Mukangira said.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference continues to attract participation from diplomats, business leaders, and policymakers, reinforcing India's position as a hub for global investment and international cooperation.

Interesting to see Ukraine as a partner country at Vibrant Gujarat. While cooperation on tech and manufacturing is welcome, I hope our government remains cautious and prioritizes India's own strategic interests and historical friendships above all.

Good to see Gujarat's conferences attracting global leaders. Projects in green energy and tech with Ukraine could be beneficial. But let's also focus on strengthening ties with traditional partners and our immediate neighbors. Balance is key.

Vibrant Gujarat is becoming a major diplomatic event! 🇮🇳 The focus on ports, logistics, and green energy is perfect for Saurashtra. Collaborating with Ukraine in engineering and manufacturing could create many jobs here. A very welcome visit.

While expanding ties is good, I have a respectful criticism. The article and conference seem heavily focused on optics and announcements. I hope such high-profile visits translate into concrete, measurable outcomes for local MSMEs and job creation, not just headlines.

The partnership with Rwanda mentioned here is equally significant! India being their second-largest investor is something to be proud of. Our model of development partnership in Africa is working. Hope the Gujarat conference yields good results for all involved.
