The trailer of Hugh Jackman-starrer Hugh Jackman was unveiled on Tuesday.

Michael Sarnoski has directed the project, as per Variety.

According to the official logline, this darker reimagining of the Robin Hood legend will find the character "grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder." Unlike most previous iterations of the legendary outlaw, Jackman's Robin Hood is "a battleworn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation."

The film also stars Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve," "28 Years Later"), Bill Skarsgard ("Nosferatu," "It"), Noah Jupe ("A Quiet Place," "Honey Boy") and Murray Bartlett ("The White Lotus," "Welcome to Chippendales"). The film is written and directed by Sarnoski, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed "Pig" (2021) and "A Quiet Place: Day One" (2024). Production on "The Death of Robin Hood" took place in Northern Ireland.

Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett serve as producers under their Ryder Picture Company banner alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media. Lyrical's Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers executive produce with Rama Gottumukkala, Sarnoski and Jackman. "The Death of Robin Hood" is fully financed by Lyrical Media.

Honestly, another Hollywood reboot? 😅 We have so many rich Indian epics and folk tales that could be told on a global scale with this kind of budget. Imagine a film on Raja Bhoj or Chandragupta Maurya with this production value. Just a thought!

The director did 'Pig'? That was such an underrated film. If he brings that same character-driven intensity, this could be special. Jackman as a battleworn loner is perfect casting. Trailer drop kab hai?

As someone who loved the classic Errol Flynn version, I'm cautiously optimistic. The "salvation" angle sounds intriguing. Hope it's more than just a generic action flick. The cast is stellar though – Bill Skarsgård is always a scene-stealer.

Shot in Northern Ireland! The landscapes will be breathtaking for sure. The logline makes it sound quite philosophical. Reminds me a bit of a 'Logan' style treatment for a classic hero. Worth a watch in theatres if the reviews are good.

Respectfully, I feel the constant trend of making classic heroes "dark and gritty" is getting tired. Not every legend needs a deconstruction. Sometimes we just want a straightforward, uplifting story about justice. Hope this proves me wrong!
