Interesting. We have so many amazing stories from Indian history about families migrating and building new lives—like during Partition or moving to cities. Maybe this reboot will inspire our filmmakers to adapt similar Indian epics for a global platform like Netflix.

The original was about simple living and hard work. In today's fast-paced world, maybe a show like this is exactly what we need. Hope it's not too dramatized. The teaser dialogue about being "small against the sky" but happy as a family is beautiful.

As someone who loved the books, I'm cautiously optimistic. I just hope the new adaptation handles the more problematic aspects of Wilder's work and the history of the American West with the nuance and sensitivity it requires. A respectful critique: please don't romanticize settler colonialism.

Already renewed for Season 2? Netflix must be very confident. Good for them. My daughter might enjoy this. The themes are universal—struggle, home, family. Will definitely give it a watch in July.

The part about it being an "origin story of the American West" makes me think. We have our own origin stories in every Indian state, of people building communities from scratch. Feels relatable in that sense. Hope the new Laura does justice to the character! 🙏
