At least the rescue operations started quickly—within 30 minutes. That's commendable. But why was this warehouse even being built without proper safety measures? The poor laborers take all the risk while builders earn crores in profit. Compensation is welcome, but prevention is key. 😞

Having lived in Kolkata for a while, I've seen how haphazard construction is around here. The state government must hold the contractor fully accountable and cancel their license. Rs 10 lakh is decent, but the families deserve more than just money—they deserve justice. 🏗️❌

It's good that CM Adhikari personally visited the hospital and monitored the situation. But why did he wait until afternoon to go to the site? He should have been there immediately instead of worrying about 'obstacles.' The families of the deceased needed to see his face, not just hear announcements. 😤

🙏 Deepest condolences to all the families. The fact that NDRF and Army joined rescue operations shows this was a major disaster. Meanwhile, the PMO's Rs 2 lakh is a drop in the ocean for a breadwinner's family. State and central governments need to provide jobs or skill training for affected families too.

It's heartening to see the CM personally involved in the rescue, but this is happening too often in Bengal. Remember the Murshidabad bridge collapse? We need a complete audit of all under-construction sites in the state. Stop blaming the rain or soil—fix the corrupt system that allows these unsafe structures. 🔍
