Kerry Washington will executive produce and star in "An Innocent Girl," the upcoming Netflix film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.

James Marsden and Chloe East co-star in the psychological thriller, about a young and ambitious woman seduced by a high-powered DC couple who draw her into a dangerous world of sex, power and murder, as per Variety.

Jaume Collet-Serra ("Carry On," "Cliffhanger"), who signed a rare overall film deal with Netflix last summer, will direct the film from a screenplay by Michael Mohan and Marc Guggenheim, with current revisions by Carly Wray.

"An Innocent Girl" is the latest in a string of Netflix hits for Washington. Last year, the Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee starred in Rian Johnson's "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery," the highest-reviewed entry in the detective franchise.

In 2024, Washington executive produced and starred in Tyler Perry's war drama "The Six Triple Eight," which reached Netflix's Top 10 in more than 85 countries. She also starred alongside Meryl Streep in the streamer's movie musical, "The Prom," in 2020.

The plot sounds intense! "Dangerous world of sex, power and murder" in DC... reminds me of some of our own political dramas, just with a Hollywood filter. Will definitely watch, but hope the story has depth and isn't just shock value.

Netflix India, please don't dub this one poorly like you sometimes do. The original audio is key for thrillers. Kerry Washington is a brilliant actor, and Jaume Collet-Serra knows suspense. This is a solid combo.

Interesting to see more A-list actors moving to streaming. Her deal with Netflix seems to be working well. "The Six Triple Eight" was powerful. Hoping this new film matches that quality. The director's track record is a bit mixed though.

Another Hollywood thriller. Good for a weekend watch, but I sometimes wish Netflix would promote more diverse Indian thrillers with this kind of budget. We have amazing stories here too. That said, will add to my list!
