Karnataka Lok Bhavan to open for public visit on August 16-18

Karnataka Lok Bhavan will be open for public visits on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day for three days.
According to an official statement by R Prabhu Shankar, Special Secretary to the Governor, the public will be allowed entry to designated areas of Lok Bhavan from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on August 16, 17 and 18.
It has invited the general public to visit the premises and asked visitors to strictly follow security guidelines for their safety and the smooth conduct of the programme.
Visitors must carry a valid government-issued identity card, such as Aadhaar, and produce it for verification at the entry point.
All visitors will undergo mandatory security screening and frisking and will have to follow the instructions of security personnel. Entry will be restricted to designated areas along the prescribed route.
The public has also been advised to maintain silence, discipline and decorum while inside the premises.
Private and taxi vehicles will not be permitted inside Lok Bhavan.
Bags and backpacks, eatables, pan, gutka, tobacco products, cigarettes, alcohol, professional and video cameras, laptops and other electronic devices, sharp and metallic objects, matchboxes, lighters, flammable materials, arms and ammunition will be strictly prohibited inside the premises.

Good gesture from Raj Bhavan. But let's be honest — with all these restrictions (no bags, no phones, no cameras), it's more like a security drill than a public visit. I understand the need for safety, but couldn't they at least allow mobile phones? We live in a digital age, yaar.
As a history buff, I'm actually excited about this! Lok Bhavan has such beautiful architecture, and it's part of Bengaluru's heritage. Only wish they would have kept it open for the whole day instead of just 2 hours. Still, better than nothing. Will definitely be there with my Aadhaar card ready! 😊
Nice effort but the timing is odd — 5:30 to 7:30 PM on weekday evenings? Working people like us will struggle to reach before 6:30, especially with Bengaluru traffic. And then they say no vehicles inside. At least they could have thought about the public convenience while planning this. The intention is good though, I'll give them that.
Reminds me of visiting the Parliament buildings in Ottawa — they have similar security protocols. It's actually great that the administration is being transparent and allowing citizens to see their government institutions up close. Proud of this transparency initiative from Karnataka!
I appreciate the gesture, but I wish they would give more details on which areas are accessible. "Designated areas" is quite vague. Also, for senior citizens like me, standing in long queues for security checks is going to be tough. Anyway, I'll try to go on the last day to avoid the rush. Respect to the Governor's
