During the meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav apprised Kapil Dev of the sports landscape in Madhya Pradesh and the steps being taken by the state government to promote various sports, including cricket.

"Madhya Pradesh is working to create a strong ecosystem for all sports. We are developing infrastructure, training facilities and support systems for athletes across disciplines," Chief Minister Yadav said.

The Chief Minister said the government is committed to ensuring that players from the state get national and international exposure.

"Our focus is on building sports as a career option for the youth. Along with cricket, we are giving equal importance to hockey, athletics, wrestling and other Olympic sports," he said.

Kapil Dev's humility is unmatched. Even after all his achievements, he's willing to mentor young talent. But CM ji should also focus on basic infrastructure - many district schools don't even have proper grounds. Let's hope this isn't just election-time rhetoric. 🤨

Excellent initiative! MP has tremendous potential in hockey too - remember the Hirapur bhopal hockey club? We need more balanced development. Kapil paaji's point about focusing on all sports is spot on. 👏

While I appreciate the gesture, I'm skeptical about these high-profile visits. Remember what happened to the cricket academy in Indore? It's struggling with maintenance. Implementation matters more than announcements. Let's see if they actually set up something concrete. 🤔

As someone who works in sports management in the US, I can say this is a smart move. India's states need to invest in sports infrastructure like this. The focus on Olympic sports alongside cricket is especially important for India's youth. Good to see Kapil Dev involved.

Finally some attention to MP's sports scene! I remember when our school hockey team had to travel 50km for practice. Kapil Dev ji's willingness to help is wonderful - hope they involve local coaches too, not just big names. 🙏
