Jordan announces 26-member squad for FIFA World Cup 2026
New York, June 4
The Jordan Football Association has announced its 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, led by star forward Mousa Al Tamari.
The Nashama will be without influential striker Yazan Al Naimat, who is sidelined due to a knee injury sustained at last year's FIFA Arab Cup. However, Captain Ehsan Haddad returns after nearly a year out with injury.
Talisman Al Tamari scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 36 league and cup games for Rennes this season, as well as finding the net seven times for his country in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup.
The list also includes some promising young strikers, including Ali Azaizeh, Odeh Fakhoury and Ibrahim Sabra.
Jordan will ramp up their final preparations with a friendly against Colombia on 7 June, before competing in Group J along with Austria, Algeria and Argentina.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup marks Jordan's highly anticipated debut, as they gear up to go shoulder-to-shoulder with the world's best teams, two and a half years after finishing runners-up at the AFC Asian Cup.

Tough group for Jordan with Argentina and Algeria, but they have shown good form in Asian competitions. Their runner-up finish at the Asian Cup was no fluke. Would love to see them pull off a surprise or two! 🙏
Nice to see Ehsan Haddad back after injury. But losing Yazan Al Naimat is a big blow—he was crucial in their Asian Cup run. The young forwards will need to step up big time against quality opponents. Hope they don't get embarrassed.
Honestly, as much as I love watching Asian teams on the world stage, Group J is a nightmare for Jordan. Argentina alone is terrifying, and Algeria are no pushovers either. Still, a debut is a debut—they should enjoy the experience and learn. 🤞
Jordan's journey from Asian Cup runners-up to World Cup debutants is truly commendable. Al Tamari's form is key—if he fires, they can cause some upsets. Would be great to see them win at least one match. India should take notes on their development model! 🏆
Bit disappointed they didn't include a few more experienced players for such a big stage. The friendly against Colombia will be a good test. But let's be realistic: avoiding a 5-0 loss to Argentina would be a win in itself. 😅
