Srinagar, Aug 1
In compliance with the Constitution of India, the J&K Public Service Commission on Saturday submitted its 67th Annual Report to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
An official statement said, "In compliance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India, JKPSC today submitted its 67th Annual Report for the year 2025-26 to the Lieutenant Governor at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar."
The delegation of Members of the Commission - Rajiv Singh and Asaf Mehmood Sagar - along with Secretary Bashir Ahmad Dar, was led by Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary.

In 2025-26, JKPSC made 1,152 selections against 1,263 posts referred to it, including the J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police Service and J&K Accounts Service.
The Commission also made selections against 39 posts of Junior Judge in the Subordinate Judiciary, and faculty posts in Medical Colleges, Degree Colleges and other Gazetted posts.

Good to see the recruitment process speeding up. But I hope they also focus on filling the vacant posts in remote areas. Our youth deserve opportunities closer to home, not just in Srinagar or Jammu.
94,546 applications for 1,263 posts! That shows the desperation among our youth for government jobs. Glad the PSC is using technology like On-Screen Evaluation and SMS updates to make the process smoother. Hope this continues.
Interesting to see the J&K PSC reporting directly to the LG now. The focus on meritocracy and speed is good, but I hope this doesn't undermine the federal structure. Transparency is key, and it looks like they're moving in that direction.
The SMS service for candidates is a small but great initiative. Many of our students don't have reliable internet access, but almost everyone has a phone. This makes the process more inclusive. 👍
Respectfully, I have to point out that while 1,152 selections is good, we need to see if these are all merit-based or if there's still political interference. The past has shown us that even with good reports, ground reality can be different. Let's wait and watch.
