J&K: GOCs of White Knight Corps & Cross Swords Division review LoC preparedness

GOCs of the Army's White Knight Corps and Cross Swords Division on Monday visited the Akhnoor sector of the Line of Control in J&K's Jammu district to review operational preparedness and the prevailing security situation.
Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps said on X, "GOC White Knight Corps, along with GOC Crossed Swords Division, visited the general area of Akhnoor to review the operational preparedness and prevailing security grid.
The visit focused on the assessment of counter-infiltration measures, the integration of new-generation equipment, and overall operational synergy. The GOC commended the formation for induction and integration of niche technologies and exhorted all ranks to sustain a robust, agile and responsive counter-infiltration posture. The Army guards the 740-km-long Line of Control in J&K. The LoC is situated in Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri districts of Jammu division, and in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts of Kashmir division.
The Army is deployed to prevent infiltration, exfiltration, smuggling and drone activities initiated from across the LoC by terror outfits with the assistance of Pakistan's ISI.
These drones are used to drop payloads of arms, ammunition, cash and drugs on the Indian side. Overground workers of terrorist groups pick up these payloads and pass them on to the terrorists to sustain terrorism in J&K.
The duties of preventing infiltration, exfiltration, smuggling, and drone activities are carried out by the Border Security Force along the 240-km-long international border in J&K. The international border is situated in Samba and Kathua districts, and partly in the Jammu district.
Anti-terrorist operations are carried out in the hinterland by the J&K Police and the security forces.
Drug smugglers and those involved in hawala money rackets are also on the radar of the security forces.
It is believed that funds generated by these illegal activities are used to sustain terrorism in the union territory.

It's reassuring to see such proactive reviews. The part about drones dropping arms and drugs is particularly worrying. We need to protect our youth in J&K from these nefarious activities. Our forces are doing a great job.
While I fully support our army, I hope these visits translate into tangible on-ground improvements for the soldiers. Better equipment and living conditions are a must. The focus on tech is good, but the human element is key.
The complexity of the security challenge is immense - from infiltration to drones to hawala funding. Kudos to the coordinated efforts of the Army, BSF, and J&K Police. A multi-pronged approach is the only way.
"The Knight Stands Vigilant" – powerful words. This constant vigilance is what keeps the nation safe. We often take peace for granted, forgetting the sacrifices made on borders like Akhnoor every single day.
The link between drug smuggling, hawala, and terror funding needs to be broken decisively. It's a cancer. Strong action against overground workers is as important as military preparedness. A tough but necessary fight.
