Mumbai, February 1

Actor Jackie Shroff, aka "Jaggu Dada," turned 69 on Sunday, February 1, and as the actor celebrates his special day, wishes have been pouring in from family, friends, and the film world. Among the first to wish the actor was director Subhash Ghai.

The director, who has collaborated with the actor in multiple films, took to his Instagram account to share a note for the man he calls his "hero."

The two first collaborated in the 1983 blockbuster 'Hero', which launched Shroff to stardom. Their collaboration spanned several successful projects, including 'Karma' (1986), 'Ram Lakhan' (1989), 'Khalnayak' (1993), and 'Trimurti' (1995).

"Gaurav wo nahi jiska baap bada hota hai,

Gaurav wo hai jo khud ke paanv pe khada hota hai,

Gaurav uska nahi jisko taqdeer saath deti hai,

Gaurav uska hai jo apni tadbeer se bada hota hai."

"Pehli hi mulaqat mein dekha maine uske andar

Wo nihatta hai jo ban jaayega ek din Sikandar

Sachchai ka noor tha usme wahi uska guroor tha

Hero bankar parde ki chamak se na thirka kabhi

Har vijay ko apne saathi ki vijay bataya

Jab haar mili to wo khud pe hi muskuraya!!"

Hero, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak... what an iconic partnership! The 90s were golden because of actors like him. His dialogue delivery and style were unmatched. A very happy birthday to the one and only Jackie Shroff!

Respect. The man is all about self-made success, just like the poem says. "Gaurav wo hai jo khud ke paanv pe khada hota hai." So true. An inspiration for anyone trying to make it on their own merit.

It's heartwarming to see such a lasting bond in an industry known for its fickleness. Subhash Ghai's tribute is genuinely moving. Happy birthday to a star who seems as kind off-screen as he is charismatic on it.

While I love his old movies, I do wish he had more substantial roles in recent years. He has so much potential even now. But still, a living legend. Janamdin ki hardik shubhkamnaye, Jackie sir!
