J-K: Anti-terror 'Operation Sheruwali' enters its twelfth day in Rajouri
Rajouri, June 3
A joint anti-terror operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force entered its twelfth day on Wednesday in the dense forest areas of Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal in the Manjakote sector of Rajouri district.
The security forces are continuing efforts to track down suspected terrorists believed to be hiding in the region.
The security forces were seen checking the ID cards of travellers and locals, conducting intensive search operations in the region.
The operation, codenamed Operation Sheruwali, is being carried out jointly by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF. It was launched following specific intelligence inputs indicating the presence of suspected terrorists in the region.
The move is aimed at ensuring that suspected militants remain trapped within the designated area while search teams continue their operations.
The challenging terrain and thick forest cover have added to the complexity of the mission, requiring forces to proceed cautiously while maintaining constant surveillance. Security agencies are using all available resources to track the movement of the suspected terrorists and eliminate any threat posed by their presence in the region.
The entire area remains under heightened security, with access to certain locations being closely monitored. Officials said search operations would continue until the area is fully sanitised and all security concerns are addressed.

It's good to see the security forces taking such a thorough approach. The ID checks might be inconvenient for locals, but safety comes first. I hope the operation concludes successfully soon.
Twelve days and still going... the terrain must be really tough. But the people of Rajouri deserve peace. Hope the forces catch these terrorists quickly and we can restore normalcy. 🙏
Respect for the joint operation coordination between Army, J&K Police, and CRPF. I've heard about the Manjakote sector - it's challenging terrain. Let's see how this unfolds.
Operation Sheruwali - the name itself shows our forces have the courage of a lion. But I must say, twelve days is long. Are we lacking in intelligence or technology? Need faster responses to protect our jawans. Just my honest observation.
Our soldiers are doing a great job. But for locals in Rajouri, these twelve days must be stressful - constant checks, restricted movement. Hope the government also focuses on development in these regions to address root causes.
Impressive level of security and persistence by Indian forces. These operations are critical for national security. Hope they use thermal imaging and drones in those dense forests to minimise risks.
