This is truly heartening! Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt's work is legendary - he literally created a whole new instrument. Events like these are a breath of fresh air amidst all the noise. I only wish more young people could attend such intimate musical evenings. The article mentions it was an 'exclusive' event - hope future editions are made more accessible to the public.
As someone who has followed Indian classical music for decades, this is fantastic news. Pt. Bhatt's Grammy win put the Mohan Veena on the global map. ITC should be commended for taking art to discerning audiences. It's a shame that such beautiful music doesn't get enough mainstream attention. Maybe next time they can stream a part of it for those who couldn't attend.
So proud that a corporate giant like ITC is doing this! WelcomArt sounds like a wonderful initiative. But I have to say, events like this are often attended only by the elite. Would be nice if some tickets were reserved for music students or scholars. Still, glad to see classical music getting the platform it deserves. 🙏🎶
Brilliant move by ITC Hotels. Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is a master who has put India on the world music map. I've heard his recordings and the Mohan Veena produces the most soulful sounds. Events like WelcomArt are crucial to preserve and promote our classical traditions. We need more such collaborations between hotels and artists.
Absolutely delightful! But I wonder if such 'exclusive' events actually reach the common music lover.
