He's absolutely right. My father has asthma and he always complains of breathing issues when we pass through that section. It's not just about looks, it's a genuine health hazard. Authorities should replace them with easy-to-clean flooring immediately.

While I agree carpets need maintenance, calling it 'fatal' seems like an exaggeration. There are bigger issues at our airports like congestion and delays. Still, basic hygiene is important and they should look into it.

As a frequent traveler to India, I've noticed this too. Many international airports have moved away from carpets in high-traffic areas precisely for hygiene reasons. Mumbai is a major gateway and first impressions matter.

It's good that a celebrity is using his platform for this. Maybe now the authorities will listen. We pay so much in taxes and fees, the least we deserve is a clean and safe airport. Hope they take action soon!

True for Delhi airport as well! Those carpets near the gates are always stained. In our climate, they trap moisture and dust. Better to have tiled or marble floors which are easier to maintain and more hygienic.
