Earlier today, PM Modi addressed a Special Plenary of the Knesset in Jerusalem. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli parliament.

Upon his arrival at the Knesset, the Prime Minister was received by the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana and accorded a ceremonial welcome.

Israel PM Netanyahu, Leader of Opposition Yair Lapid and Speaker Ohana spoke in the Plenary ahead of Prime Minister's address, expressing strong bipartisan support for India-Israel ties.

Recalling the uncompromising policy of zero tolerance for terrorism of the two countries, the Prime Minister offered condolences for the October 7 terror attack and noted that there can be no justification for such brutality.

Good to see the bipartisan support in Israel for ties with India. The strategic partnership is important, but I hope our foreign policy remains balanced in the region. The focus on counter-terrorism is absolutely correct.

Netanyahu in a kurta! 😄 That's a nice surprise. Beyond the symbolism, the real takeaway is the cooperation in agriculture and water tech. Israel's expertise can help our farmers immensely. Hope these MoUs translate to ground-level benefits.

While the diplomatic optics are positive, we must remember the complex situation in the region. India's statement supporting "durable peace" is the key line. Our foreign policy should always prioritize humanitarian concerns alongside strategic interests.

First Indian PM to address the Knesset! A proud moment. The historical connection with the Jewish community in India is something we should teach more about in schools. Cochin, Mumbai... our history of welcoming them is a legacy.

The zero-tolerance for terrorism stance is non-negotiable. Solidarity with Israel on that front. Hope the collaboration extends to cybersecurity as well. Jai Hind.
