"The launchers that were attacked posed a real threat to IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel. - Israel Air Force"

Tel Aviv, April 25

The Israeli Air Force targeted launchers used by the Hezbollah in Lebanon on Saturday.

As per the IAF statement, the launchers in Dir al-Zahrani, Kafr Remen, and al-Sa'miyeh posed a threat to Israel.

In a post on X, the IAF said, "In three areas in southern Lebanon: the Air Force struck tonight launchers belonging to the terror organization Hezbollah in the areas of Dir al-Zahrani, Kafr Remen, and al-Sa'miyeh in southern Lebanon, north of the forward defense line. The launchers that were attacked posed a real threat to IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel."

"The IDF continues to operate in the space of the forward defense line to remove threats to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces," the statement added.

Earlier in the day, the IAF attacked Hezbollah launchers in Yaroun and Kfar Kila of Lebanon.

"The Air Force attacked a short while ago launchers belonging to the terror organization Hezbollah, in the areas of Yaroun and Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon, north of the forward defense line. The launchers that were attacked posed a threat to IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel," it said in a statement.

On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces struck Hezbollah military structures in the area of Deir Aames.

In a post on X, it said, "STRUCK: Hezbollah military structures in the area of Deir Aames, from which rockets were launched toward Shtula. This strike was carried out in response to Hezbollah's violation of the ceasefire."

The IDF also uncovered the Hezbollah's use of ambulances as cover to transport weapons.

"EXPOSED: Hezbollah's use of ambulances for terror. Hezbollah uses ambulances and medical teams as cover for transporting weapons and operatives, undermining the special protections granted to medical facilities and equipment under international law. During IDF searches in southern Lebanon, an ambulance used by Hezbollah to conceal weapons was located. Among the weapons found were explosive devices, mortar shells, magazines, and a grenade," it said.

Israel says they're defending their citizens, but this pattern of targeting multiple areas in one day feels disproportionate. Hezbollah has been a nuisance, but the response seems excessive. We saw similar cycles in Kashmir - tit-for-tat escalations never end well. The ceasefire was fragile, and now it's being tested again.

The IAF's precision strikes are impressive, but the bigger picture is worrying. Hezbollah hiding weapons in ambulances shows they care little for humanitarian norms. But endless strikes won't bring peace. India should use its diplomatic channels to urge restraint from all parties. The region needs a political solution, not more bombs.

As an Indian watching this, I feel for the civilians caught in the crossfire. The ceasefire was supposed to bring stability, but both sides keep provoking. Hezbollah using medical vehicles is despicable, but Israel's blanket strikes also kill innocents. The cycle of violence benefits no one except the extremists on both sides.

Hezbollah is labeled a terror organization by many countries for good reason - their tactics are blatantly irresponsible. But I'm troubled by the IDF's near-daily operations in southern Lebanon. The definition of "forward defense line" seems to be expanding. India should advocate for a UN-led monitoring mechanism to prevent ceasefire violations by either side.

This is exhausting to follow. The IDF says they're removing threats, Hezbollah says they're resisting occupation. Meanwhile, Lebanese farmers can't tend their fields and Israeli towns live under rocket threat. India has no dog in this fight, but as someone who values stability, I'd rather see both sides negotiate than trade strikes daily.
