Israeli Air Force on Wednesday announced that the Israel Defence Forces and Shin Bet eliminated Muhammad Uda, who served as the head of the military wing of the terror organization Hamas.

The IAF said that the strikes happened on Tuesday, and was responsible for planning and coordinating attack and raid targets as part of the October 7 offensive.

In a post on X, the IAF said, "In a precise strike in northern Gaza Strip yesterday: IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Muhammad Uda. Uda served as the head of the military wing of the terror organization Hamas in the last two weeks and was appointed to the role following the elimination of Azz al-Din Haddad. In recent years, he served as the head of the intelligence headquarters of the terror organization and, as part of his role, was responsible for planning and coordinating attack and raid targets as part of the October 7 offensive."

"Uda is considered one of the leaders among the last senior commanders in Hamas who were involved in planning and managing the fighting since October 7, and his elimination is perceived as a significant blow to the organization's ability to regroup," it added.

The Israeli Air Force said earlier, "As part of IDF forces' activity in southern Lebanon, an Air Force aircraft identified an unmanned aerial vehicle in the air that posed a threat to our forces in the area. The unmanned aerial vehicle landed, and a terrorist from the Hezbollah terror organization arrived to collect it. In a rapid closing of the circle, the Air Force struck and eliminated the terrorist."

The Israeli Air Force said they continue to attack infrastructure of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

In a post on X, it said, "The Air Force continues to attack infrastructure of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon: Terrorists who advanced terror plots against our forces were eliminated, and infrastructure from which they operated to launch rockets was attacked."

Good riddance. October 7 was a barbaric attack, and these terrorists need to face consequences. India stands with Israel in the fight against terrorism. But I hope the IDF is careful about civilian casualties - that only creates more enemies. Targeting the leaders is smarter than carpet bombing.

Precision strikes are impressive, but I'm concerned about the escalation with Hezbollah too. Lebanon could become another front. As an Indian, I see parallels with our own security challenges - you eliminate one commander, another pops up. The real solution is political dialogue, not just military action. But Hamas leaves little choice.

While Israel has the right to defend itself, I'm worried about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Thousands of innocent civilians are suffering. The international community needs to push for a ceasefire and two-state solution. Violence only begets more violence - look at our own history in Kashmir. 🕊️

Important development in the ongoing conflict. Hamas has been a menace not just to Israel but to Palestinians too - their leadership lives in luxury while ordinary people suffer. Eliminating their military head is a big deal. But I echo what others said - without addressing the underlying political issues, this is just a chapter in a never-ending saga.

As someone who follows geopolitics, this is significant. Israel's intelligence network is impressive - replacing a leader and then eliminating him within two weeks shows deep penetration. But the humanitarian cost is staggering. India should use its diplomatic channels to push for peace in the region.
