Iran's Abadan attacked by US missile

The outskirts of Abadan in southwestern Iran's Khuzestan province were targeted in a US missile attack on Sunday, which resulted in no casualties, the semi-official Tasnim news agency said on X, citing a provincial official.
Abadan, home to Iran's oldest oil refinery and bordering Iraq, was targeted in US strikes earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain reported on Sunday fresh Iranian aerial attacks targeting their territories, which also triggered US refuelling planes to evacuate from southern Israel, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Jordan's air defences intercepted three missiles launched from Iran toward Jordanian territory on Sunday, while a fourth one fell in a remote area in southern Jordan without causing any casualties or material damage, state broadcaster the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation said on X.
Some media reports said the missiles were aimed at US military aircraft stationed in southernmost Jordan's coastal city of Aqaba, which directly borders the Israeli city of Eilat.
Following the incident, Israel's Channel 13 News reported that the US military on Sunday evacuated refuelling planes from southern Israel's Ramon Airport, which is located some 18 km north of Eilat, after the missile attacks toward Jordan.
Israel's state-run Kan TV News said commercial passenger flights at the airport were delayed following the attacks.
Earlier in the day, the US Embassy in Amman issued a security alert saying Aqaba's airport and seaport had been evacuated due to a "specific and credible threat," urging Americans to avoid travelling to the sites until further notice.
It also renewed its warning for Americans to avoid military bases in Jordan.
However, Jordanian authorities later denied the US embassy's claim, saying both facilities are operating normally.
Also on Sunday, Kuwaiti authorities said a power generation and water desalination plant in the country came under Iranian attack for the second time in two days, sparking a fire and disrupting electricity generation.
Bahraini authorities also said their air defences intercepted a number of Iranian aerial attacks targeting the country.
On Sunday, the Iranian Health Ministry said on X that US strikes targeting its southern provinces since June 27 have killed more than 57 people and injured 517 others.

Sad to see this escalation. The US and Iran need to de-escalate immediately. Innocent civilians in Kuwait and Bahrain are also suffering. India has always advocated for peace and dialogue. Hope sanity prevails soon.
Look at the irony — US attacks Iran but claims to defend others. Meanwhile, Israel is hiding behind US planes while Jordan gets caught in the crossfire. This is a textbook example of how American foreign policy destabilizes entire regions. But of course, the media will still blame Iran.
As an American, I'm tired of these endless wars. Our government keeps bombing countries, and we never learn. The US embassy in Jordan even made a false alarm about Aqaba airport. It's all just chaos. Praying for peace for all people involved.
Is anyone else noticing that the US always "misses" when attacking Iran but somehow manages to hit power plants and oil refineries? And Iran's retaliation is getting more precise — they're now targeting US allies. This is scary stuff. India should definitely stay neutral and not take sides.
The casualties reported by Iran—57 dead and 517 injured since June 27—are deeply concerning. The US should be held accountable for these attacks under international law. But as always, the powerful nations get away with it. 😔
