Mumbai, May 3

As five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, two teams standing on the brink of elimination, get set for a battle against each other, the match-up between MI pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and LSG's top-order is shaping up to be an exciting one.

With just two wins in their campaign so far, occupying the bottom two spots in the table, it is a battle for pride between MI and LSG, who have had shockingly poor campaigns so far.

Bumrah, who has had a poor tournament with just three wickets at an average of almost 95, would be licking his lips after witnessing a struggling LSG top-order of Mitchell Marsh (212 in eight innings with a fifty), Aiden Markram (193 runs in eight innings with no fifty) and skipper Rishabh Pant (189 in eight innings with one fifty).

As per ESPNCricinfo. Bumrah has a fine match-up against Marsh (28 in 28 balls) and Markram (26 in 29 balls), having dismissed them once each.

Bumrah has also been troublesome to Pant, having dismissed him seven times, while giving away just 55 runs in 46 balls. Also, West Indies left-hander Nicholas Pooran, who is yet to play a fiery knock this season, has scored just 17 in 22 balls against him, getting dismissed twice in T20s, as per ESPNCricinfo.

It's amazing how Bumrah can dominate a batter like Pant, who's one of the most explosive in the world. But stats don't always win matches – MI's batting has been fragile, and LSG have some firepower down the order. This match feels like a toss-up, honestly. Both teams need to show some pride.

Personally, I feel Bumrah is overhyped at times. Yes, he's a legend, but his T20 numbers this year are poor. LSG's top-order hasn't fired either – Markram and Marsh are class but inconsistent. This game might come down to who makes fewer mistakes, not Bumrah's match-ups. Let's see if Rohit Sharma can anchor the chase for MI. Beti ka baap kaunsa? 😅

Bumrah's record against Pant is genuinely intimidating – 7 dismissals in 46 balls is insane. But LSG have Pooran and Badoni in the middle order who can counterattack. I think the key is whether LSG's top order survives the powerplay. If Bumrah gets early wickets, MI could be back in the game. Exciting contest ahead!

Honestly, this match is a battle of who's less terrible. Both teams are 2-8, Bumrah out of form, LSG's batting fragile. Without Bumrah's magic, MI's bowling looks ordinary. If he doesn't fire, LSG might just chase 180 easily. But as an Indian fan, I want Bumrah to find rhythm before the T20 World Cup later this year – form is temporary, class is permanent! 🇮🇳
