Lucknow, May 6

Bottom-placed Lucknow Super Giants will clash with the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are coming to the contest after losing six consecutive matches. In their most recent outing against the Mumbai Indians (MI), LSG lost by six wickets. With their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, they will aim to put up a strong performance against the visitors. LSG have played nine matches and won only two. They are currently placed at the 10th position in the points table with just four points.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are also coming to the contest after losing the match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) by four wickets. However, despite the loss, the team is placed second in the points table with six wins from nine matches. They would look to extend their lead and reach closer to the playoff berth after beating LSG, who are struggling for form.

LSG and RCB previously met each other on April 15, where Rajat Patidar led the side to crush LSG by five wickets at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Honestly, I feel bad for Rishabh Pant. After his comeback, he's not getting support from other players. Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh - sab flop hain. Aur bowling mein Shami ke saath koi backup nahi. RCB ke paas Bhuvneshwar, Hazlewood, Thushara - pura bowling attack zabardast hai. LSG ko to Sirf respect point ke liye khelna chahiye ab.

Ek baat toh clear hai - Virat Kohli aur Rajat Patidar ka combination deadly hai. RCB ka middle order bhi strong hai with Tim David, Krunal Pandya. Lekin LSG ke liye ek positive baat - Arshin Kulkarni ne last match mein achi batting ki thi. Agar wo aaj bhi kare toh shayad LSG 150 tak pahunch sake. Bas itna hi expect kar sakte hain. 🏏

As a neutral fan, this match feels like a formality. RCB's batting lineup is stacked - Kohli, Patidar, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma. Even their bench strength is good. LSG management needs a serious rethink. They bought Pant for 27 crores but didn't build a team around him. RCB's scouting has been top notch - finding talents like Rajat Patidar and Suyash Sharma. Maybe LSG should learn from RCB's rebuild!

Yaar, Lucknow stadium ka naam 'Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium' hai - bahut bada naam hai. Par LSG ka performance toh aisa hai jaise school team khel rahi ho. 😞 RCB ke fans toh Lucknow mein bhi 'Ee sala cup namde' bolenge. Mera suggestion
