IndiGo issues travel advisory after bad weather over Jaipur disrupts flight schedules. Passengers urged to check flight status as airline works to minimize inconvenience.

"We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly. - IndiGo"

New Delhi, May 3

IndiGo on Saturday issued a travel advisory after bad weather conditions over Jaipur impacted flight schedules and operations. The airline said it is closely monitoring the situation and working to minimise inconvenience to passengers.

"Bad weather over Jaipur has impacted flight schedules," IndiGo said in its advisory.

The airline further assured passengers that all efforts are being made to ensure safe and smooth travel amid the disruption."We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly. We request that you stay updated on your flight status on the website or aap," the airline stated.

IndiGo added that its teams are assisting passengers at every step as operations are adjusted in response to weather conditions.

"Please be assured that our teams are here to assist you at every step and provide full support. We look forward to clearer skies and a swift return to our regular schedule," it said.

Earlier on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that India is likely to witness a mixed temperature pattern along with wetter-than-usual conditions in May, indicating that rainfall across the country is "most likely to be above normal" at over 110 per cent of the long period average (LPA).

Rainfall is expected to be favourable across much of the country, with normal to above-normal precipitation likely in most regions. However, parts of east and northeast India and east-central India may receive below-normal rainfall.

At least they're communicating, unlike some airlines 🙄. Used to fly IndiGo often from Delhi to Jaipur; bad weather is common in May but they used to send emails 2 hours before flight. Not perfect but better than others. Let's hope operations return to normal soon!

Typical IndiGo PR exercise. When has any Indian airline actually assisted passengers well during weather disruptions? It's always "We are monitoring" but the person at the counter has no clue. And the compensation is always a ₹200 meal voucher that can't buy anything. They need to upgrade the app with real-time updates rather than these generic advisories.

I was stuck at Jaipur airport last week due to bad weather! IndiGo staff were visibly stressed but they did manage to rebook us eventually. Took 4 hours though 😩. What I appreciate is they didn't cancel the flight abruptly like some airlines do. Just wish they'd provide better refreshments during the wait!

Weather is unpredictable in May, but IndiGo should learn from international airlines. In the US, if there's a weather delay, they automatically rebook you. Here you have to stand in a queue for hours. The advisory is fine, but execution matters more. Still, safety first - better to delay than risk a flight in bad conditions.

The increasing weather disruptions across India are concerning, especially with IMD predicting above-normal rainfall. Airlines need better contingency plans - not just advisories. But I appreciate IndiGo's
