IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Patna diverted to Lucknow due to bad weather
Lucknow, May 8
An IndiGo flight operating from Kolkata to Patna was diverted to Lucknow on Friday evening after bad weather conditions at Patna airport, according to airport officials.
Flight 6E6917 (CCU-PAT), which was scheduled to land at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna around 5:00-5:15 pm, was redirected mid-air to Lucknow as a precautionary measure.
The flight safely landed at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at around 5:15 pm, the officials added.

Good decision by the pilot. But IndiGo should have better contingency plans. Last month also a flight from Delhi to Patna was diverted. They need to improve communication to passengers.
At least they didn't cancel the flight! Had a bad experience with SpiceJet last month where they just cancelled without any explanation. IndiGo handled this professionally.
As someone who flies regularly between Kolkata and Patna, this happens often in May-June due to pre-monsoon storms. Always keep a buffer in your travel plans. Passengers should also be offered refreshments during such diversions.
Imagine reaching Lucknow instead of Patna! At least it's a good airport. Hope the airline arranged transport for everyone. These diversions are stressful for families.
