"India's action will be unprecedented and decisive:" Rajnath Singh warns Pakistan against misadventure on border

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warns Pakistan against border misadventure, vows unprecedented response, highlights Operation Sindoor, and criticizes past UPA government.

"If it does so, India's action will be unprecedented and decisive. - Rajnath Singh"

Thiruanathapuram, April 2

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday warned Pakistan against any misadventure on the border, stating that if the neighbouring country plans any actions against India, the latter's response will be unprecedented and decisive.

"Our neighbour, in the current situation, can commit any misadventure. If it does so, India's action will be unprecedented and decisive," said Singh.

Addressing the Veer Sainik Samman in Thiruvananthapuram, the Defence Minister highlighted that following the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Indian soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes during "Operation Sindoor." He declared that Operation Sindoor was India's most significant operation against terrorism in Indian military history to date.

"After the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Indian soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in just 22 minutes during 'Operation Sindoor'. This was the biggest operation against terrorism in Indian Military History so far," said Singh.

He declared that 'Operation Sindoor' has not yet been concluded.

This operation has not been closed yet. If any mischief is carried out from across the border, not only will a befitting response be given, but there will be Unprecedented Action," said Singh.

The Defence Minister further accused the Congress-led UPA government of failing to take decisive action against terrorist acts targeting India, alleging that their response was limited to sending "thick dossiers" to the perpetrators rather than delivering a firm rebuttal.

"If I just talk about terrorism here, then you remember how the situation was when the Congress-led UPA Government was in power? Day in and day out, there would be a terrorist incident in some part or the other of the country, or news of Bomb Blasts in cities would come. What was the government's response at that time? Thick dossiers were handed over, on which no action was taken," asserted Singh.

Referencing the 2016 surgical strike following the Uri attack and the more recent Operation Sindoor, the Defence Minister stated that the government has delivered a massive blow to terrorism.

"Whether it was the surgical strike after the 'Uri attack', the air strike carried out after 'Pulwama', or the 'Operation Sindoor' conducted after the recent 'Pahalgam' incident, we have delivered a powerful blow against terrorism," added Singh.

Addressing the West Asia crisis, the Defence Minister stated that the government is fully prepared to manage the ongoing situation in the Middle East. He reassured the public that there is absolutely no shortage of petrol or diesel in the country and confirmed that the Indian Navy is actively engaged in monitoring the region and facilitating the safety of those present.

"We are fully prepared to handle the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Some people are spreading lies and creating confusion. There is absolutely no shortage of petrol or diesel. Our Navy is actively engaged in evacuating those present in the region. PM Modi is safeguarding the interests of Indians there...The situation in West Asia is far from ordinary. A significant number of people from Kerala reside there, but the government is keeping a vigilant watch over the situation. We are fully prepared to tackle any eventuality," added Singh.

While I support a strong defense, I hope the focus remains on de-escalation and protecting our soldiers' lives. A cycle of retaliation helps no ordinary citizen on either side of the border.

It's reassuring to hear such firmness from our Defence Minister. Our armed forces have shown incredible bravery. The mention of Kerala and West Asia is also important—many families here are worried. Good to know the government is monitoring.

"Brought to its knees in 22 minutes" – this is the kind of decisive action we need! No more empty threats. The difference in approach between this government and the previous one is like day and night.

Strong words are good for morale, but I hope the planning and intelligence behind such operations are even stronger. We must always be three steps ahead. Salute to our forces.

The political point-scoring against the previous government was unnecessary. National security should be above politics. That said, the reassurance about fuel supplies and the Navy's role in West Asia is very timely.
