It's good to see our defence ties growing, but I hope the focus on counter-terrorism also translates to better security for our citizens in border states. The exercises sound impressive, but the real test is on the ground.

Conducting it in Uttarakhand's terrain is a smart move. The mountains provide perfect training conditions. More such exercises with friendly nations, please! Our soldiers deserve the best training.

The joint AI dialogue and critical minerals group mentioned at the end is the real headline for me. Defence is important, but long-term strategic partnerships built on technology and resources are what will secure the future.

While I support military readiness, I do hope the environmental impact of such a large-scale exercise in the ecologically sensitive Uttarakhand region is being carefully managed. Development and defence shouldn't come at the cost of our Himalayas.
