'Independence Day for homemakers': Beneficiaries grateful to CM Gupta for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana

Women, who received the official letters under the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana at a special programme at the capital's Talkatora Stadium, on Wednesday, thanked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for the scheme, calling it "Independence Day for homemakers".
Speaking to IANS, a beneficiary said that the BJP government in Delhi has started fulfilling its promises withing one-and-a-half year of coming to power.
"All the women of Delhi are extremely thankful to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ji," she added.
Expressing her gratitude, another woman said: "This is similar to Independence Day and Republic Day for us homemakers. So far those who were earning, were independent. It is the same feeling for us now."
Several other women also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister.
Earlier, addressing the gathering at the event, CM Rekha Gupta said: "All I want is that all my sisters should remain happy. This smile should forever stay on their faces. May all my sisters always progress in life, because I am right here with you! I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all of you on this auspicious day. I express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, which has reached the doorsteps of all my sisters across Delhi."
"We launched this scheme on 1st August, and from 1st August until today, 9,22,000 sisters have registered their names under this scheme. Today, under this Rs. 2,500 monthly Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, we have officially handed over verification and approval certificates to 2,500 women, who are going to be the initial beneficiaries of this scheme," the Delhi CM added.
Reiterating PM Modi's views on women empowerment, Gupta said: "Until the woman of a household progresses, prospers, and has her challenges resolved, the nation's problems cannot be solved."
Chief Minister Gupta had earlier said: "At the event, eligible women will receive official scheme letters, and the amount will start being credited directly to their bank accounts from September 1. The process will continue, and eligible women will keep receiving the scheme's benefits regularly."
Meanwhile, MLA Anil Goyal told IANS that the scheme was a guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is being fulfilled.
