Interesting that the Canadian High Commissioner is visiting NALCO. With global focus on critical minerals for clean energy transition, this could be a strategic partnership. India has huge rare earth reserves and Canada has technology. Hope it leads to joint ventures that benefit both countries. Bharat needs more such collaborations! 🇮🇳🇨🇦

Quite a formal courtesy call. But honestly, with the diplomatic tensions between India and Canada over the last year over Khalistani extremism, I'm surprised such visits are happening. Either Canada is finally taking our security concerns seriously, or this is just a photo op for optics. Let's wait and see if any real substance comes out of this.

Naveen Patnaik has always been a statesman. Even as opposition leader, he's meeting foreign dignitaries - that's class! However, I hope the focus remains on Odisha's development. We have so much potential - from Chilika lake to Kalinganagar industrial complex. Canada can help us with sustainable mining practices and education exchange. Jyotiraditya Scindia should also take notes from such meetings. 😊

I can't help but notice the contrast - Canada wants strategic partnerships with India while giving safe haven to organized Khalistani separatism. My cousin in Brampton says there's open anti-India rhetoric in some pockets. This High Commissioner visit is welcome for trade, but we mustn't ignore the elephant in the room. Canada needs to act on pro-Khalistan elements if they want real partnership. Just saying what many Indians think.
