It's concerning to see a net loss despite such high EBITDA margin. Probably one-off expenses or interest costs eating into profits. The stock still went up 1.99% in 5 days, so market seems to have taken it positively. Let's wait and watch the management's explanation in the concall. 💼
HAM projects are a double-edged sword. On paper you show good EBITDA, but the actual cash flow comes after project completion. With road sector still facing land acquisition issues in some states, these losses don't surprise me. Having said that, their diversification into solar and BESS is a smart long-term bet. ☀️
As someone who follows infra sector closely, I think the revenue dip is partly cyclical - many companies like L&T, IRB also saw slower Q1 execution due to elections and heatwaves. But a 45 crore loss is still concerning. They need to control their borrowing costs. The stock at 557 seems fairly valued given the order book position.
This is what happens when you bid aggressively for projects just to keep the order book full. Margins of 27% sound great, but if your interest costs and debt are growing, it won't matter. Having said that, good to see them expanding into railways and metro - that's where the real infrastructure push is happening in India. 🚄
One quarter loss doesn't change the outlook for me. HG Infra has a solid track record and the order book is quite diversified now - roads, solar, BESS, and even transmission. The government's capex push is real, and
