"He was never meant to be just a hero on screen": Samantha Ruth Prabhu meets Tamil Nadu CM Vijay

Chennai, June 17

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu on Wednesday met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.

After her meeting with Vijay, Samantha shared a heartfelt note, praising his courage to enter the new arena, calling his journey truly inspiring for many.

"When I landed in Chennai today, I felt this immense sense of happiness. I was going to meet our CM. I've always felt that Vijay sir was never meant to be just a hero on screen. His energy, his presence, and the way people respond to him always felt like he was meant for something bigger. What inspires me most is the courage it takes to step into a completely new arena. To leave behind what you have already mastered and take on a challenge where the stakes are so much higher. Not because it is easy, but because you believe you can make a difference," she wrote on Instagram.

"I think all of us, at some point in our lives, are called to do more. To look beyond ourselves and ask how we can contribute. Very few people actually answer that call. I have a feeling Vijay sir will surprise even the people who already believe in him. Not because of the position he holds, but because of the intent with which he approaches it. Wishing him strength, wisdom and the courage to stay the course. And for every young person watching, may this be a reminder that life can be so much bigger than the dream you started with," Samantha added.

She also shared several pictures with Vijay.

Tamil Nadu witnessed one of its most dramatic political transitions on May 10, when actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of the state, marking the end of the decades-long dominance of the DMK and AIADMK and ushering in what he described as "a new era of real, secular and social justice."

I appreciate Samantha's heartfelt note, but let's be realistic. Vijay's entry into politics is a huge experiment. He has charisma, sure, but governance is about policy and administration. Hope he surrounds himself with capable people and doesn't just rely on his star power. The people of Tamil Nadu deserve real change.

Finally, a leader who understands the youth! Samantha's line about "life being bigger than the dream you started with" - that's the kind of thinking we need in our country. Vijay represents hope for a generation that's tired of old politics. Let's give him a chance! 🇮🇳

As someone who follows Indian politics from abroad, this is truly fascinating. Samantha's perspective adds a human touch to what is otherwise a very typical political transition. The real test will be in how Vijay handles the economy and social issues. But I admire the optimism!

Samantha's note gave me goosebumps! The way she talks about people being "called to do more" - that's so true. Not everyone has the guts to leave their comfort zone and step into something as challenging as politics. Vijay sir has my full support! Let the new era begin! ✨

I'm a bit skeptical honestly. Actors becoming politicians usually ends up being a publicity stunt. Remember how many stars tried and failed? But Vijay does seem different - he has been involved in social work for years. Let's hope Samantha's faith is justified and he actually delivers on his promises.
