Rasika Dugal and Manish Chaudhari share behind-the-scenes moments from the upcoming Netflix crime drama 'Kartavya', starring Saif Ali Khan.

"He gets along with everyone. And he is a very funny person. - Rasika Dugal on Saif Ali Khan"

Mumbai, May 11

Actors Rasika Dugal and Manush Chaudhari opened up about their upcoming Netflix film 'Kartavya' and their experience of working together.

Speaking to ANI, Rasika shared, "When I read the script for the first time, I liked it, especially the way Pulkit (director) narrated it. The way he approached me for this role, I liked it a lot."

On sharing the screen with actor Saif Ali Khan, the 'Mirzapur' star said, "I always heard that he is a very good actor. He gets along with everyone. And he is a very funny person. It was very nice to work with him. Initially, there is nervousness, especially when you work with a new actor. You don't know if you will be able to relate to each other or how the scenes will unfold. But it was a very lovely and warm feeling."

Actor Manish Chaudhari, who also plays the role of a police officer in 'Kartavya', recalled a press conference scene where he memorised a long speech for hours, only to later find out from Pulkit that he was supposed to read it from a paper.

"There was a press conference. You must have seen it in the trailer. In that press conference, my character had to say a lot in the speech. I was remembering it for 2-3 hours. Pulkit, who was looking at me from a distance, then told me that I had to read it from a paper. I told him that I had memorised the speech, but he insisted on reading from the paper. That was a funny moment," Chaudhari said.

Directed by Pulkit and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the film is set to premiere on Netflix on May 15.

With Saif Ali Khan in the lead role, the film also features Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari and Saurabh Dwivedi in key roles.

Described as a character-driven crime drama, 'Kartavya' explores themes of conscience, justice and consequence against a tense investigative backdrop.

Manish Chaudhari's story is hilarious! πŸ˜‚ Memorizing a speech for hours only to be told to read it from paper. Classic Bollywood miscommunication! Can't wait to see Sanjay Mishra and Saif together β€” that's going to be power-packed. Hope the story does justice to the title 'Kartavya'.

Good to see Saif Ali Khan back in crime dramas β€” he's always been brilliant in such roles. But I hope 'Kartavya' doesn't become just another cops-and-robbers movie. The character-driven angle sounds promising. Rasika Dugal and Sanjay Mishra are top-tier choices πŸ‘

As someone who loves Indian cinema from abroad, this cast is amazing! Saif is so talented, and I loved Rasika in Mirzapur. Excited to see what Red Chillies brings to Netflix. Though I do hope the crime drama isn't too predictable β€” Indian films are getting better at twists lately 🍿

Saif and Sanjay Mishra in one film? That's a dream combination! Both are masters of subtle performances. Rasika sharing screen with Saif is a treat too. My only concern: hope the script is tight, not just star power. But given Pulkit's direction and Gauri Khan's production, I'm optimistic. May 15 can't come soon enough! πŸ”₯

I love that Rasika always mentions how nervous she gets working with new actors β€” it makes her so relatable. And Saif being funny and welcoming is the best kind of co-star
