Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Horticulture Research Centre established in Raiya in Jhajjar at a cost of Rs 13.27 crore and a Seed Production Technology Centre of Excellence in Munimpur in Badli at a cost of Rs 8.50 crore.

The Chief Minister said these projects would play a significant role in providing farmers with modern technologies, advanced research, and high-quality planting material, thereby giving the horticulture sector a fresh momentum.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and dedicated seven other development projects worth Rs 53.60 crore. These include the Jhajjar Mini Secretariat and Residential Complex, new buildings for government schools in various villages, and water works projects for Saundhi and Nimana villages.

He said these initiatives would strengthen education, drinking water supply, administrative services, and public amenities while giving a new direction to the region's overall development.

The programme was attended by Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar and his wife Rachel Azar, Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, First Secretary at the Israeli Embassy Sara Olga, and several other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the event coincided with the birth anniversary of the great warrior Maharana Pratap.

Paying tribute to him, he said Maharana Pratap's life symbolises courage, self-respect, sacrifice, and unwavering determination. "His ideals continue to inspire people to face challenges with confidence and resilience."

CM Saini reiterated his commitment to accelerating infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, irrigation, and rural development in the Badli Assembly constituency.

Acting on a memorandum submitted by BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a dedicated research centre at the Regional Centre of Excellence and Research Centre in Raiya under Maharana Pratap Horticultural University in Karnal, focusing on horticultural produce and medicinal plants of Jhajjar district.

To strengthen healthcare services, a modern 50-bed hospital will be constructed in Badli village. Additionally, Rs 1 crore will be provided for the construction of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Bupania village. For sports promotion, a model sports stadium will be established in Bhindawas village.

The Chief Minister announced that Rs 52 crore will be spent on renovating 70 km of roads under the Public Works Department (PWD) in the constituency, while Rs 15 crore will be spent on upgrading 25 roads under the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board.

A sum of Rs 30 crore has also been approved for converting the northern bypass of Badli village into a four-lane road.

Good to see Israeli collaboration in agriculture - they have excellent technology for arid farming. But Rs 13.27 crore for one centre seems steep. Let's hope it's not another white elephant project that looks good on paper but fails to deliver. Track record hai sabke saamne.

Maharana Pratap's birth anniversary and Israeli ambassador present - interesting combination! Jokes aside, the focus on horticulture and medicinal plants for Jhajjar is smart. That region has good potential for high-value crops. Hope the 50-bed hospital and roads also get completed on time. 👍

Rs 52 crore for 70 km of roads and Rs 15 crore for 25 km under marketing board - that's roughly Rs 74 lakh per km. In rural areas, that should be doable if there's no corruption. But we all know how tenders work in Haryana! 😅 Still, good to see development focus.

Happy to see water supply projects for Saundhi and Nimana villages. Access to clean drinking water should be a basic right, not a privilege. The PHC in Bupania is also long overdue. One suggestion: please ensure these centers have adequate staff and medicines, not just buildings! 🌊🏥

As someone from neighboring district, I know how neglected Jhajjar's agriculture has been. This research centre under Maharana Pratap Horticultural University could be a game-changer for medicinal plants and high-value crops. But the devil is in implementation - let's see how many farmers actually benefit.
