Harsh Dubey replaces injured Washington Sundar for decisive 3rd ODI against England at Lord's

Harsh Dubey has been named as Washington Sundar's replacement in the Indian squad for the third and final ODI against England at Lord's after Sundar was ruled out of the series due to a right hamstring injury sustained during the second ODI in Cardiff.
Sundar will undergo further scans and specialist consultation to determine the course of treatment.
"The Men's Selection Committee has named Harsh Dubey as Washington Sundar's replacement for the third and final ODI against England at Lord's," as per a media advisory from BCCI.
"Washington sustained a right hamstring injury during the second ODI at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and has been ruled out of the remainder of the series. He will undergo scans and seek a specialist opinion for further management of his injury," the advisory further added.
Dubey's inclusion comes ahead of a crucial series decider, with the three-match contest level at 1-1. England bounced back from their defeat in Birmingham to draw parity in Cardiff, setting up a winner-takes-all encounter at Lord's, the Home of Cricket.
India are aiming for their first ODI win at Lord's since 2004, with victory in the series decider set to secure the series and cap off a memorable tour on a high note.

Finally a young spinner getting a chance! 🏏 I've heard good things about Harsh Dubey's bowling in domestic cricket. But honestly, why not give Gurnoor Brar a game? He's been in the squad for a while. Still, exciting times for Indian cricket. Hoping we break that Lord's jinx after 20 years! 🇮🇳
As a neutral fan, I think India might have missed a trick by not playing Shardul Thakur or even bringing in a full batting replacement. In a decider, you'd think India could use an extra batsman like Rajat Patidar or Sarfaraz Khan. Harsh Dubey seems a like-for-like for Sundar, but that might leave the bowling thin if conditions don't favor spin.
Washington Sundar has been treated so unfairly by the selectors in the past. He bowls well, bats decently at number 7 or 8, and fields brilliantly. Now this injury might set him back again. 😔 That said, I'm happy for Harsh Dubey. Make your chance count, youngster! And please, can we finally win at Lord's? It's been 20 years! 😭
Not sure about this selection honestly. Washington Sundar is a proven performer in overseas conditions and his batting gives depth. Harsh Dubey is good but he's purely a bowler. In a must-win game, I would have preferred a specialist all-rounder like Shivam Dube to bowl more or bring in a pure batsman. Let's hope the team proves me wrong! 🤞
