Finally some positive news from the Northeast! The Durand Cup is steeped in history and it's wonderful that it's being celebrated in Guwahati. I hope the trophy tour at IIT Guwahati and City Centre Mall draws huge crowds – our youth need to see these icons up close. The Army's role in grassroots sports is commendable.

While I appreciate the event, I wish more transparency came with military-civilian collaborations in sports. Why not involve local football clubs and state associations more visibly? The Durand Cup is iconic, but let's ensure the benefits trickle down to village-level grounds. Still, a good start for Assam's football season. 🏆

As a football fan visiting India, I'm thrilled to see the Durand Cup heritage alive in Guwahati! The mix of colonial-era trophies and modern grassroots engagement is fascinating. Kudos to the Indian Army for preserving this tradition. I'll try to catch the trophy display at City Centre Mall. 🇮🇳⚽

As a Guwahati resident, this is heartwarming! The Northeast has been neglected in sports events for too long. Having the Durand Cup trophy tour here, with the historic Legislative Assembly building and Lachit Borphukan statue included, blends our heritage with modern sports. Hoping for packed stadiums this season! 🤞

Impressive coordination between the Indian Army, Assam government, and local bodies. The Durand Cup has a legacy since 1888 – it's brilliant that they're taking the trophies to IIT and the new assembly building. This isn't just about football;
