Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel inaugurates Shri Nitya-Shanti Bhavan, attends consecration ceremony of Lord Munisuvrat Swami
Ahmedabad, June 27
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday inaugurated Shri Nitya-Shanti Bhavan in Ahmedabad.
He also attended the sacred consecration ceremony (Pratishtha Mahotsav) of Lord Shri Munisuvrat Swami at a newly constructed temple building.
The Chief Minister participated in the religious ceremony as part of the temple inauguration events and offered prayers during the consecration rituals.
Earlier on Thursday, Patel said that the Kanya Kelavani and Shala Praveshotsav, launched by Narendra Modi in 2003, has grown beyond a government programme into a people's festival through the collective efforts of parents, teachers, and villagers.
On the third day of the 24th Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav 2026, being celebrated with the goal of taking the state's education standards to new heights and achieving 100 per cent enrolment, the Chief Minister welcomed newly admitted students at Pimpan and Sanand Model School in Ahmedabad district.
Emphasising the importance of education, the Chief Minister said that the state's sustained efforts have resulted in 100 per cent enrolment in schools. He added that the government is committed to identifying students who have dropped out of school, counselling their parents, and bringing them back into the education system. He also urged parents to make the education and future of their children a priority alongside achieving economic prosperity.
At Sanand Model School, a total of 209 students were enrolled, including 142 students in Class 9, 50 students in Class 11 (General Stream), and 17 students in Class 11 (Science Stream).
The Chief Minister and other dignitaries presented educational kits to the newly admitted students and formally welcomed them into the school.

While the temple consecration is a cultural event, I wish the article focused more on the education part. 100% enrollment is a big claim—are we tracking retention and quality too? Kids enrolled but not learning is a real concern in many rural schools. Let's discuss that more openly.
Bhai, it's heartening to see CM Patel balancing dharma and vikas. The Lord Munisuvrat Swami temple is beautiful and the school enrolment numbers impressive. But we need to check the dropout rates—especially for children from migrant families in Gujarat. Hope the counselling programme reaches them all.
Interesting to see a Western-style development model merging with local traditions in Gujarat. The 100% enrollment goal is ambitious—similar to what I've seen in parts of the US. But here in India, the community involvement through the 'people's festival' concept seems more organic. Education kits for new students is a nice touch.
Really proud of the Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav! My mother tells me how she wasn't allowed to go to school in the 80s. Today, seeing 142 kids enroll in Class 9 alone at one school gives me hope. The continuity from Modi's 2003 initiative to now shows political will for education. But let's also focus on career counselling for these kids after Class 12.
As someone who works in international development, I'm curious about the '100% enrollment' metric. In Western countries, we usually look at net enrollment rates adjusted for population age groups. Still, it's impressive that Gujarat is prioritizing education alongside infrastructure. The parent counselling aspect is particularly smart—addresses root
