Govt inaugurates Bharat Buildcon 2026 to deepen industry interaction among builders
New Delhi, June 18
Bharat Buildcon 2026 -- One Nation, One Expo, an exhibition for the building materials and construction industry, was inaugurated at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre here, and the event drew over 25,000 visitors on the opening day, an official statement said on Thursday.
The exhibition drew architects, builders, developers, contractors, manufacturers, traders, policymakers, industry associations and international buyers from different parts of India and abroad, providing a platform for industry interaction and business engagement.
The event features participants from more than 90 countries and exhibitors from over 100 Indian cities, showcasing products and technologies across 24 segments, including ceramics and stone, hardware, cement and steel, plywood and laminates, furniture, sanitaryware, electricals, paints, construction technologies and other allied sectors.
MoS Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology Jitin Prasada highlighted the role of free trade agreements in expanding opportunities for Indian industries in international markets.
He said the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement will provide enhanced market access and strengthen trade relations between the two countries, according to the statement from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
Prasada also referred to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of positioning India as a trusted global manufacturing and sourcing destination through a focus on quality.
He noted that India has the capabilities and resources to strengthen its presence across sectors, including construction and building materials.
The exhibition will continue over the coming days and provide a platform for industry engagement, technology showcase and business interactions, the statement noted.
Prasada, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, and Member of Parliament Parshottam Rupala performed inauguration, in the presence of representatives of the construction and building materials industry.
Aligned with the national mission of Viksit Bharat@2047, Bharat Buildcon connects manufacturers directly with government procurement channels and global trade networks. It offers access to decision-makers and procurement heads over four days.

Good initiative but I hope the government ensures that small-scale builders from tier-2 and tier-3 cities also get a fair chance to participate. Often such events are dominated by big players only.

Great initiative but I wish these expos were also held in cities like Mumbai, Chennai or Bengaluru. Yashobhoomi is nice but accessibility for southern builders is a challenge. Just saying...
