Google Pixel Watch 5 gets Stephen Curry edition with exclusive "#LockIn" band

Google is set to launch a Stephen Curry edition of the Pixel Watch 5, with leaked renders and pricing revealing the special version ahead of the smartwatch's expected August 20 release.
As per GSM Arena, the edition is part of Google's long-standing partnership with NBA star Stephen Curry.
The Google Pixel Watch 5 is expected to be announced in two days alongside the Pixel 11 series, while the smartwatch itself is expected to launch on August 20, based on the time shown in leaked images.
Recent leaks as per GSM Arena, have already revealed extensive details about the Pixel Watch 5's specifications and design.
The latest leaked materials now show the special Stephen Curry edition, including its design and reported pricing.
The Stephen Curry edition is essentially a regular Pixel Watch 5 paired with an exclusive woven loop band.
The band comes in stone gray and taupe, with strong orange accents similar to those seen on the recently released Fitbit Air in Stephen Curry colours, as per GSM Arena.
The leaked materials, as per GSM Arena, show the 45mm Pixel Watch 5 with the special band, which carries a Stephen Curry label along with the "#LockIn" branding. The band is also water-repellent, making it suitable for workouts.
Despite the special-edition branding and exclusive band, Google is reportedly keeping the price premium relatively limited.
The Stephen Curry Pixel Watch 5 is priced at USD 669, according to GSM Arena.
The Stephen Curry edition will reportedly be available only while stocks last, and Google will not offer it in all markets.

The "#LockIn" band looks quite sporty actually. I appreciate that they're making it water-repellent for workouts. But honestly, most Indians would prefer a cricket edition with Virat Kohli or MS Dhoni! 🇮🇳🏏 Google needs to understand the Indian market better.
A special edition that's only $20 more than the regular model? That's actually smart marketing. But limiting it to select markets means India likely won't get it. With the import duties and conversion, it'll cost a bomb here anyway. Expected though — exclusive products always work this way.
Stephen Curry's a legend, no doubt. But why does Google keep doing these celebrity collabs for watches? First with Fitbit, now this. It feels slightly gimmicky. I'd rather they focus on improving battery life and making the software smoother for the Indian audience, especially with our usage patterns.
The orange accents do look sharp on that grey band! 😍 Wish they'd launch this in India though. We have so many basketball fans here now. Also, for ₹56k, you could buy an Apple Watch Ultra which has way more features. Google needs to price this better for emerging markets.
I'm a massive Warriors fan, so this is tempting! 🙌 But knowing Google's track record, they'll probably make it available only in the US and maybe select European markets. The "while stocks last" bit also screams artificial scarcity. Classic marketing gimmick. Would love to see them actually promote basketball in India seriously.
