Speaking to the media, Chouhan said, "We are all very sad today. Ever since we came to our senses, we have mostly heard only two names, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. We grew up listening to their songs. Goddess Saraswati resided in her voice; she had not only captivated music lovers in India but also in many countries around the world... This is a loss for the nation, for the world of music, such a loss that cannot be compensated. After Lata ji, now Asha ji is also no more. This is a very great loss for all of us..."

She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening following extreme exhaustion and a chest infection.

Shivraj ji is right. Goddess Saraswati did reside in her voice. The range she had was unbelievable – from classical "Mera Kuch Samaan" to the peppy "Chura Liya Hai Tumne". An era has truly ended.

As an admirer of Indian music from abroad, Asha Bhosle's voice was my gateway. Her collaboration with Boy George on "Bow Down Mister" showed her global appeal. A legend who transcended borders. Rest in peace.

While the tributes are beautiful, I wish our leaders showed this much urgency and unity in tackling real issues like healthcare. That said, her legacy is immortal. Her songs will keep her alive forever.

She sang for my grandmother, my mother, and for me. That's three generations! From black & white films to today's remixes, her voice was a constant. Such a strong woman, a true inspiration. Heartbroken 💔
