Kejriwal Announces Goa Townhall Against Forced E20 on Aug 25

Arvind Kejriwal has announced a townhall against forced E20 fuel in Goa, scheduled for August 25 at Vivanta Miramar in Panjim. The event follows a national townhall in Delhi where 7 lakh people tuned in, and comes after AAP leaders surveyed petrol pumps across Goa documenting issues like carburettor problems and reduced mileage. The campaign is part of AAP's grassroots outreach ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, where the party currently holds two seats.

Goa: Arvind Kejriwal announces townhall against forced E20 on August 25 in Panjim

New Delhi, August 22

Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced a Townhall against forced E20 in Goa on August 25 at 3 pm at Vivanta Miramar, responding to requests by Goan Vehicle owners. The Goans who are suffering from forced E20 will finally get an outlet to share their problems.

The townhall comes after the first national town hall against Forced E20 fuel took place in Delhi, where 7 lakh Indians tuned in to support the campaign. Kejriwal was joined in that townhall by vehicle owners across the country who shared their bad experiences with E20 fuel.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been consistently raising issues regarding E20 in Goa. The party, led by Goa State President Valmiki Naik and other state leaders, visited petrol pumps across the state and spoke to Goans from Calangute right upto Canacona.

They found issues ranging from carburettor problems to dropped mileage, with issues being faced by students, private Vehicle owners and Goa's famous bike taxi pilots.

In the beginning of August, Kejriwal pointed out that Goa has a higher-than-average vehicle ownership and that forced E20 would impact 85 to 90 per cent of Goans.

Arvind Kejriwal stated that on August 25, if every Goan raises their voice together, the Modi government will be forced to listen.

The Townhall comes ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections. The Aam Aadmi Party have been ramping up their grassroots outreach in the state leading up to the upcoming Assembly elections.

In the 2022 Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party with 20 seats, followed by the Congress with 11 seats. The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and the Aam Aadmi Party won two seats each, while independents secured three seats, and other candidates accounted for the remaining two.
